Kait is a Michigan-born artist who works out of her home studio in Memphis, TN. She earned a BFA in Printmaking from Saginaw Valley (MI). As a printmaker, she works primarily in relief printing. Kait became a Speedball Demo Artist in 2019 to continue to teach printmaking to children and adults the magic of making prints and how versatile it is as a medium.

She started working with fabric and textiles in 2021. Exploration and play is important in her creative process. She started dying her own fabrics in order to create home goods and fine art. Being able to change up mediums breeds new ideas within all of her work whether it’s printing on paper, fabric, or painting.

“I love being able to come up with an image, carve it, and print it by hand. There’s a certain warmth a handmade item creates.”

Color is her primary focus while painting. She works with watercolor, acrylic on canvas, and acrylic swipe paintings on watercolor paper.

She lives with her husband, Jeff, daughter, Juniper, and two puggles Mo and Dexter.
